Standby Saver: Easily Reduce Energy Usage & Save Money

The problem with standby...

Most people inadvertently switch off gadgets and appliances around the house using remote controls. Very rarely does someone actually take the trouble to walk across to the power socket and switch the power off at the source. However, as long as the switch is on, the gadget is not entirely off. It merely goes into standby mode and power is still being consumed. Proof of this is that little green or red LED light that you can see still on even after you’ve put off the television or music system.

Just leaving your various appliances on standby 24 hours a day, can add an unnecessary £37 a year to your electricity bill. Across the country this adds up to an additional annual energy consumption that is equivalent to that generated by two and a half 700MW power stations.

Bye Bye Standby...

A clever little device is now available that is designed to stop the power to any appliance that is left on standby, thereby reducing any unnecessary energy consumption and carbon emission and helping you save money as well.

This device, called a standby saver, is very easy to install and easier to use. All you need to do is plug it into a wall socket and then plug in any electrical appliance that you wish. Now you can just switch off your appliance wirelessly and this little standby-saver gadget will do the rest for you.

Standby savers are affordable and come with a starter kit that is quite affordable. The installation is “Plug and Play” type and does not need any additional rewiring. When attached to the 4-way extension, up to four appliances can be controlled by each smart socket. Stand-by savers are compatible with most appliances that range from 1000W to 3000MW. They come with a 30 meter remote control and have a manual override so they can still be manually controlled. The system is easily expandable and has up to 64 “House Codes’ that are selective.

Using a stand-by saver

Standby savers can be used on a wide range of appliances including your DVD player, Television, VCR player, Stereo, Games Console, Computer and Microwave.

By just attaching your various appliances to standby savers, you could save up to £37 annually on your electricity bill and also reduce the output of carbon emissions from your home.

According to calculations, if each of the estimated 20 million homes in the UK just put off their appliances completely, enough energy could be saved to actually shut down one entire power station.
