The Africa Gift Hamper is a great sampler of Fairtrade products from the subcontinent. Uncork some Ormer Bay wine, dig in to the organic Mango slices, and sit back and relax to the sweet sounds of Acoustic Africa. The hamper comes gift wrapped in a handmade reusable wicker basket, made by Fairtrade producers in the Philippines. The Bakbak Zen basket is made from Bakbak bark, woven into a square style, with a slightly curved semi-rigid rim, and is faced inside and out.The Africa Gift Hamper includes: Organic Forrest Honey 454g, 2 Ndali Vanilla Pods, Organic Fairtrade Mango, 2 bags of Chewy Banana Chips, the Acoustic Africa CD, and a bottle of wine of your choice. White Wines Ormer Bay Chenin Blanc 2005 FairtradeA zesty upfront wine in true New World style. Lime, lemon and grapefruit are much in evidence on the nose. The palate is fuller and rounder with white peach, lychee and crisp green apple.Ormer Bay Chardonnay 2004 FairtradeThis unoaked Chardonnay displays typical aromas of pears, pineapple, honeydew melon and ginger spice. These characteristics follow on to a racy yet flavoursome palate. Red Wines Ormer Bay Cabernet-Pinotage 2003 FairtradeThe nose of cherries, cloves and nutmeg is complemented by ripe raspberry and plum. The palate is well-balanced with the black fruits of the Cabernet balanced by the bitter dark chocolate of the PinotageOrmer Bay Merlot 2003 FairtradeLively and vibrant on a nose dominated by ripe plum and cherry. This theme is continued on the surprisingly rich palate that manages to balance ripe black fruits with silky smooth tannins.
