White WineOrmer Bay Chenin Blanc 2005 FairtradeA zesty upfront wine in true New World style. Lime, lemon and grapefruit are much in evidence on the nose. The palate is fuller and rounder with white peach, lychee and crisp green apple.Ormer Bay Chardonnay 2006 FairtradeThis unoaked Chardonnay displays typical aromas of pears, pineapple, honeydew melon and ginger spice. These characteristics follow on to a racy yet flavoursome palate.Red Wines Ormer Bay Cabernet-Pinotage 2004 FairtradeThe nose of cherries, cloves and nutmeg is complemented by ripe raspberry and plum. The palate is well-balanced with the black fruits of the Cabernet balanced by the bitter dark chocolate of the PinotageOrmer Bay Merlot 2006 FairtradeLively and vibrant on a nose dominated by ripe plum and cherry. This theme is continued on the surprisingly rich palate that manages to balance ripe black fruits with silky smooth tannins. About the Producer: Ormer Bay wines are produced in Citrusdal, gateway to the Cederberg Mountain Range and up-and-coming wine region of the Western Cape. Here, due to the high altitude and cool mountain breezes, grapes reach optimum physiological ripeness. Hand harvesting and judicious use of modern vinification techniques ensures the resultant wines are packed with fruit and thoroughly modern in style. Wine certified Fairtrade.
